As President and Co-Owner of Sierra Pacific Retail Group, Mike has over 40 years of Commercial Real Estate experience combined with strong relationships with national retailers and shopping center developers. Mike has a keen understanding of major retailer strategies, market positioning and analytics, as well as ongoing market knowledge of local and regional markets in Northern California.
Throughout Mike’s career his primary focus has been as a team player formulating and executing strategic expansion plans for Major Retailers in Northern California and various geographic regions in the Western United States. Mike has worked in a “Master Broker” capacity for multi-market expansion with national retailers including PetSmart, ULTA Beauty, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Past clients include: Home Depot Expo Design, IKEA, Sears, Circuit City, Toys “R Us, Guitar Center, Golf Galaxy, Chick-fil-A, Lucky Stores, Safeway, Sunflower Farmers Market, Wild Oats Market. His current responsibilities include Target, ULTA Beauty, Five Below, and PetSmart Store roll outs.
Prior to forming Sierra Pacific Retail Group, Mike was with CBRE for 17 years as a broker and in a management capacity. In the management capacity, Mike was a primary driving force and served on the Executive Organizing Committee to form CBRE’s original National Major Retailer Representation Group known as “Strategic Retail Advisors.”
As Vice President and co-owner of Sierra Pacific Retail Group, Vern has over 35 years of Commercial Real Estate experience of demonstrated success in the marketing, development, and design of commercial retail projects. Vern’s principal strengths lie in site selection and acquisitions for major retail tenants and developers; project feasibility studies and market evaluation; governmental agency negotiations and approvals; lease and purchase negotiations; shopping center leasing; investment marketing and sales; tenant representation; land sales.
Prior to co-founding Sierra Pacific Retail Group in July 1998, Vern was a Senior Broker with CBRE. Vern has successfully leased many shopping centers, which include neighborhood shopping centers, community shopping centers, as well as specialty centers within the Sacramento and Central Valley Region, and has successfully subleased and/or sold surplus properties for major national retailers such as Rite Aid Corporation, REI, and Texaco. Vern has effectively packaged, marketed and sold numerous investment properties, including single and multi-tenant NNN investments.
